Acro Play Yoga combines yoga fundamentals with basic acrobatics and partner balancing.
This is not your average yoga class! Acro Play Yoga is an open-level class (beginner to advanced) inspired by the art of partner acrobatics and the practice of acro-yoga. Each week introduces a new pose and different variations that will help students build strength, flexibility and balance through partner and group work. Classes begin with a series of simple cardio exercises and basic yoga poses, and end with conditioning drills. In between we explore a number of flying-yoga poses, including, front bird, folded leaf, throne and star! With a strong emphasis on proper alignment, correct body position and good communication skills, this class is great for beginners as well as experienced “bases” and “flyers.” Group work is encouraged. Partnerships are honored. Please wear comfortable clothes that allow you to work upside down. Come alone or bring a friend!
