Celebrate Carrboro’s 100th year with great festivities on May’s First Sunday at the Carrboro Centennial Celebration. That’s tomorrow, May 1st! Catch AcroEntertainment’s street show at 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm, and 2:30pm. Enjoy other performances by Billy Sugarfix on his theramin and Pete Morelo spinning fire. Listen to the musical stylings of Village Band, Triangle Jazz Band, Club Boheme, Cool John Ferguson, and the Nomads. Participate in the Carrboro Community Garden Club’s Plant Exchange or delight in a live poetry reading. Hope to see you there!
While you’re in Carrboro, check out the Flowjo, a recently opened flow arts studio focused on training, shared practice, classes and community events. Co-created by the hoopdrum duo, course offerings include hoop, aerials, dance, drums, acrobatics, poi, and more! AcroEntertainment teaches a monthly AcroPlay workshop on second Sundays. We explore partner and group acrobatics in a safe, playful environment. Starting with a silly cardio warm up, we move into counter balances, partner flow sequences, group acrobatics, and acro conditioning. Open level. Our next workshop is Sunday, May 8th at 2pm.
