SparkCon turned out to be a great success! Friday night kicked off with a raging drum circle in Moore’s Square. A couple of wild spirits came out and filled downtown with rhythmic beats, tribal yells, and expressive dancing. Acroentertainment showcased a few tricks towards the end of the night as the paparazzi snapped photos.

Saturday morning, Kaci and I presented at the YogaSpark tent with about ten participants and additional spectators. We shared our insight on partner yoga, balancing poses, and the importance of body awareness as well as invited those who felt comfortable to practice some basic poses and modifications. Everyone did great and really seemed to enjoy the benefits of the poses along with the satisfaction of trying something new!
Saturday night, Kaci and I performed on the SparkCon Main Stage in Moore’s Square, accompanied by the musical stylings of Derek Torres, a member of Lake Inferior. Unfortunately, the flip camera was low on batteries and only had enough juice to capture bits and pieces of the performance. Check it out below:
Thanks to all of you who came out to see us perform!!
On Sunday, Acroentertainment hosted an afternoon of juggling, yoga, face painting, and hula hooping for a small group of families at Pullen Park in Raleigh, NC. This was a special event, in conjunction with the Montessori Silent Auction Fundraiser, and we had a lot of fun giving back to the community. Check it out.
If you are interested in hosting your own Acroentertainment workshop or would like us to perform at your next fundraising event, please contact us: katie [at] acroentertianment [dot] com.
SparkCon will be kicking off its 3rd annual event on September 19, 2008. For those of you unfamiliar with this event, it promises to be,
That being said, Acroentertainment has been given the opportunity to “show their stuff” in several events over the course of the weekend. On Friday, September 19, Katie and I will join an ensemble of local talent in what will hopefully be the greatest drum-circle Moore Square has ever seen. Join us at 10pm…whether you bring your drum or shake your bum, get out and have some fun!!!
On Saturday, September 20, we will bring it down a couple notches and host a partner-yoga workshop and acro-yoga demonstration. We will teach basic partner stretching and some simple variations on your favorite yoga poses. Acro-yoga promises to bring out your inner-child, offering a more relaxed and often silly approach to an otherwise seriously spiritual yoga routine.
Saturday evening we will be doing what we do best, which is just about everything. What I mean is that we will combine both acro and partner yoga with gymnastics, dance, balancing stunts, juggling, and whatever else we can think of as part of the opening act for the DanceSpark and FashionSpark. Don’t miss this performance, live on the big stage at Moore Square, 7:30pm.
