AcroEntertainment launched a Kickstarter campaign (from now until November 28th), promoting their quest to publish their first book, ACRO: An Alphabet Art Book. This book’s whimsical cadence of agile A and balanced B presents the contortions of two bodies in alphabetic poise. High quality photos by Christopher Donald reveal a unique font of human proportion. Appreciated and enjoyed by children and adults alike, this book spotlights human creativity and the bodies’ numerous applications.
Katie and Kaci hope to raise over $5,000 through Kickstarter to fund their first publishing venture. In addition to publishing books, the duo is releasing one-of-a-kind RALEIGH postcards, and AWESOME posters and bookmarks. All are available as rewards on the Kickstarter website. With pledges from $1 to $5,000, everyone can participate. To see rewards, click http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/acroentertainment/acro-an-alphabet-art-book
ACROBATS to AUTHORS
This project was inspired in part by the audience– always commenting on Katie and Kaci’s movement and formations, picking out letters and symbols inherent in the body shape. Katie and Kaci took it as a challenge to create the entire alphabet, using only the numerous configurations of their bodies. Kaci sketched possible arrangements and the two tested out each letter, before setting up a photo shoot with one of Carrboro’s finest photographers, Christopher Donald. Perfect for a coffee table, bed time story, or afternoon read, we want our book to inspire others to move, turn, twist, play, and find balance in the chaos.
